Basic Japanese Stage 1
Details
In this course, initial lessons introduce the Japanese writing system-the phonetic hiragana and katakana and the character-based kanji. We provide practice sheets for your own study of hiragana/katakana and focus on conversation skill in the class. Basic grammar is introduced. By the end of this course, you will know how to write your own name, introduce themselves, ask and tell time; use numbers, and learn about 30 kanji and a limited vocabulary (about 240 words) using present tense. Additional instruction on the basic structure of Japanese verbs; adjectives, adverbs, and forms of address. The vocabularies are based on daily life, work, play, etc.
